To
increase the access of rural households to improve and sustainable drinking
water supply and sanitation services, the World Bank approved thousands of cores
to the Maharashtra state. The
Maharashtra Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Project (Jalswarajya-II) will
directly benefit approximately seven million people in about 2,800 village
Panchayat, local self-Government at the village level with a special focus on
women and tribal.
Village
panchayat, SSM keeps a close watch on the construction work as it is going to
benefit nearly 2182 families.
A
team of World Bank paid inspection visit to ongoing construction of water tank
on the bank of River Manjara. Almost 25%
construction has been completed. During
their visit they inspected all aspects of the condition of storage tank
including sanitary, structural system as well as security and safely. They expressed happiness over the
construction work being carried out on war footing meeting all standard
parameters.
